What to Bring and What Not to Bring

  • Clothing, undergarments, shoes and personal items
  • Personal MP3 Players can be used during designated times* but must not have any type of recording device and may not have access to the internet or photo capability
  • Individual packaged snacks (to be kept in a personal box and may be used as a soother or reinforcer)

*These items are the sole responsibility of the resident and Heartland is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged or broken items

  • Alcohol
  • Illegal substances
  • Paraphernalia
  • Weapons (firearms, knives, etc.)
  • Pornographic materials and explicit images of any kind
  • Cigarettes, lighters and matches

Patients receiving acute care may bring the following:

  • 3 casual outfits: jeans, shorts, t-shirts (appropriate length with no sexually explicit, drug/alcohol, gang, or violent themes)
  • Shoes (no shoe strings)
  • 3 pairs of socks
  • 3 pairs of underwear
  • Bras with no underwire (sports bras preferred)
  • 2 t-shirts, 2 long sleeve shirts
  • Sleepwear (appropriate, non-revealing)
  • Jacket (no strings attached)
  • Insurance and/or prescription cards
  • Current medications
