Trauma-Focused Therapy for Children and Adolescents

Trauma-Focused Therapy for Children and Adolescents

Trauma-Focused Residential Therapy

Children and adolescents who have experienced some form of trauma at a young age may struggle with behavioral or mental health challenges in a number of ways. Located in Nevada, Missouri, we are here for each  patient that has suffered a traumatic event

This program is for children 12–17 that may have already tried outpatient treatment for depression, anxiety or other mood disorders, may have one or more previous acute hospitalization(s), and/or has a recurring pattern of struggling within their own familial or community setting. Our goal is to provide each child with the tools they need to replace their current behaviors with healthier options in order to gain individual success within their own community upon discharge. Criteria for admission is collected for review by our Clinical Director, and admission to our treatment center is scheduled after acceptance to the program is obtained.

In order to better serve our patients the care and attention they deserve, we’ve divided residential therapy into the following groups:

Male Trauma-Focused Therapy

Our Male-Trauma Focused Therapy Program is a program within Heartland Behavioral Health Services that provides inpatient treatment for males ages 12 to 17. The average stay is between six and 12 months depending on the needs of the patient. The program is based on a combination of therapeutic approaches, which have proven successful with struggling youth.

Female Trauma-Focused Therapy

Our Female Trauma-Focused Therapy Program is a program within Heartland Behavioral Health Services and provides inpatient treatment for girls ages 12 to 17. This female-centered Dialectical Behavior Program offers a refuge for victims of trauma. Treatment includes a holistic approach to the recovery of trauma-related behaviors. These behaviors fall primarily within the category of self-injury.

As a TRICARE Certified Facility, it is an honor having the opportunity to serve the families who serve our country. We believe family involvement is crucial during your child’s stay with us, no matter where your family is located at the time.
