Acute and Residential Treatment Programs

Choosing The Right Program

Heartland Behavioral Health Services has been providing care for children and adolescents for over 100 years in Nevada, Missouri. We treat male and female patients ages 4 through 17 in both acute as well as residential programs. All of our programs have been designed and tailored to help our patients grow and prosper. We continuously focus on our mission of changing lives while providing an individualized experience for each child that enters our facility.

Residential Treatment

Heartland Behavioral Health Services is a residential treatment facility located in Nevada, Missouri, for children and adolescents. Our trauma-focused therapy programs are highly specialized to cater towards the individual. We offer multiple trauma-focused therapy programs, each with its own primary focus, for patients who are struggling to overcome a traumatic event. In addition, each child is included in a number of different therapeutic models, and clinical groups focusing on the betterment of their individual struggles and needs. The residential psychiatric treatment program utilizes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) therapists to administer an individualized, evidence-based treatment plan to each patient.

Acute Hospitalization

Our acute care services act as a short term pediatric behavioral health crisis stabilization service for male and female patients ages 4 through 17. This program was designed for children that may be struggling and need to be placed into an intensive therapeutic environment. During this time of a child’s crisis, it’s our objective to get the child admitted as quickly as possible. The average length of stay is five to seven days. We are a TRICARE®-certified facility and our acute program is a TRICARE® behavioral health program.

Heartland offers an array of exceptional therapeutic amenities aimed at strengthening emotional, cognitive and social functioning while enhancing empathy and self-awareness to facilitate meaningful change.
