Our dedicated clinical and behavioral health specialists embrace evidence-based therapeutic modalities, while keeping the utmost commitment to trauma informed care. We continuously focus and refocus on our mission of changing lives while being able to provide an individualized experience for each child that enters our facility.
Heartland is proud to offer an array of exceptional therapeutic amenities. Being situated on a stunning 50-acre campus, Heartland incorporates the outdoors into many components of each child’s acute hospital experience. From the nationally recognized Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) program and our 5,000 square foot climate controlled Equestrian Center that can be used year-round, to our newly constructed outdoor playgrounds — there truly is something for everyone. Inside of our sprawling facility we have a full bowling alley, gym, expressive art therapy room, and activities conducive to a focus on healing such as sand-tray therapy, Theraplay®, and even a therapy dog, Molly!
We employ the physicians (psychiatrists) and nurse practitioners at Heartland — allowing for their full attention to be dedicated to our patients. All of our therapists are trained specifically in the treatment of acute psychiatric needs of children, as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). On average, patients are with us from 5-10 days; with our professionals all focusing on making each child’s transition back into their own community/family setting as seamless as possible.
We cannot offer a diagnosis, counseling or recommendations online, however, our professional staff offer 24/7 assessments at no cost. We can be reached anytime by calling 800-654-9605. If you need immediate medical assistance, contact 911 or seek the nearest emergency room.
